Two people have died after a cargo plane crashed close to an airport in the US.

The plane was alleged rolled off the runway at Yeager Airport in Charleston, West Virginia, and over a hillside into a wooded area in the morning.

Kanawha County Ambulance confirmed two fatalities after reports of heavy entrapment emerged.

Officials said a Mountaineer Cargo plane ran off the runway after approaching runway 23 at the airport. The company contracts for UPS.

The airport is operating under a Level 3, which is the highest emergency level.
